New Year, New Me? Hell no...

Updated: Mar 17, 2020

Happy New Year everyone!

(And belated Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!)

I was definitely glad to see the back of 2019, but 2020 comes with its own challenges.

Settling in a new home, a new area, and into a new routine takes its time, and considering my stress levels are already peaking with all of my to-dos, I know January is going to be a difficult month.

Difficult yet exciting.

Vampire Heart, the third book in the Blade & Dust series is coming at the end of the month and with it the beginning of new and exciting projects.

I don’t really do resolutions. They depress me come February because, like everyone else, life happens and I drop everything I wanted to change.

Instead, I have goals.

Sharing my personal ones is not something I do publicly, but I can most certainly share my book-related ones.

2020 Goals

1) Publish 12 books

This will be a mix of novels and novellas, and it’s going to be a definite challenge, but I want to have a new story out for you every month.

I’ll splitting my time between Rhys Everly and Rhys Lawless projects and hoping to have books from at least 3 series out by December 2020. More on the projects below.

2) Become a full-time author.

This was my goal for the end of 2019, but since it didn’t happen I have moved into 2020.

I’ve already taken a small step towards this goal and I’m working towards a May deadline for making it full time. When I go full-time, I’ll be able to do a lot more writing and have a lot more freedom, both creatively and financially.

3) Gain more readers

Whether via advertising, free stories, or other promotional efforts, I want to grow my readership quite a lot. This goal is interlinked with goal #2.

What’s next from Rhys Writes Romance

It would be quite cruel of me to say I want to publish 12 books this year without giving you at least an inkling of what those books are, wouldn’t it?

So here’s a brief look at what I’ll be working on. I try not to set any of these in stone, but this should be more or less what you can expect from me.

That’s it from me. I’ll be sharing more when I have exciting news to share or new releases.

Is there a project you’re excited to get your hands on? Is there a story you’d love to see me work on?

Let me know in the comments, or email me at rhys@rhyswritesromance.com.

Best,

Rhys x
